Reuters talks of YES vote – Bolivarians start to celebrate

8.20 pm in Caracas, no official results are yet known, but according to figures quoted by Reuters, the YES vote would win by between 6 and 8 points, and this is what the international media (never friendly to the Bolivarian revolution) is starting to report. Other sources give the YES a bigger lead.

Bolivarian supporters have started to gather outside Miraflores palace to celebrate. The leader of the reactionary students Yon Goicoechea appeal to his supporters to stay in the polling stations and “defend the vote”, implying that fraud is going on.

  1. Despite an obvious co-ordinated attempt to destabilize the regime, once again I believe we are seeing the true power of the working class assert itself. The mass movement of the people has such power as to be able to smash any attempt to corrupt the democratic will of the Venezuelan population.

    Yes to the Referendum!
    Yes to the Revolution
    Victory to the Socialism!

  2. I can’t find the link right now, but I laughed at one report that the turn out was low. Yeah right.

  3. Good deal…

    ¡Viva la Revolución Bolivariana!
    ¡Viva El Processo!
    ¡Viva Chavez!

  4. I am still waiting to see the official results, but I am confident that the “Si” vote has clearly won. The working class has shown a good deal of militancy in Venezuela, and the referendum can only serve to help make them more conscious of their power to change society.

  5. All Power to the Communal Councils!

  6. The recent violence and increased polarization will not be easily defused. Chavez would be wise to be gracious and work to reconcile. Much of the fear is irrational but still requires understanding.

  7. I hope these numbers are correct.

  8. The margin is very close (6 or 8 points) and you are asking for “all power to the communal councils”?
    are you crazy?
