Construction companies in Anzoategui force workers to vote NO

According to reports in Aporrea, two construction companies in Anzoategui (Pedeca, C.A. and Lobatera) have issued orders to their workers to vote NO in the referendum or else they will be made redundant.

The workers who drive the asphalt trucks had put YES campaign stickers in the windscreen and were told to remove them or else they would not be allowed to load any more asphalt. The workers have said that they will not cease in their attitude and that if there are any further threats they will take over the installations of the company.

Both companies have contracts with PDVSA and a number of regional and local government authorities.

A member of the regional assembly declared that “these companies have a monopoly which should not exist any more” and added that  “we will not remain passive while Bolivarian workers are being threatened”
